Stroyproekt proposes alternatives for improving transport situation at the right-bank ramp of the bridge over the Northern Dvina in Archangelsk

On 16 March 2016, Stroyproekt presented the Administration of Archangelsk Region the alternatives for improving the transport situation at the right-bank ramp of the bridge over the Northern Dvina River.    
Stroyproekt has developed the terms of reference for designing traffic interchanges.

As Aleksei Zhurbin, General Director of Stroyproekt explained, before developing the terms of reference, our engineers carried out of a lot of preparatory work, including a comprehensive transport survey and the development of a transport macromodel and several traffic simulation models for the road and street network in the area of the bridge right-bank ramp.  
As a result, Stroyproekt proposed the plan of priority measures for the current situation that includes the optimisation of traffic lights operation and the change of the traffic management scheme in the area. Stroyproekt proposed also two alternatives of the area planning. Following the discussion with various agencies and authorities of the Administration of Archangelsk and Arkhangelsk Region, the alternative with a 45m-long overpass and a left-turn ramp was adopted.
