Construction of the bridge over the Kama River is ongoing and four spans are planned to be installed this year. The entire bridge will be completed next year.

The contractor has already installed prefabricated RC beams in several spans of the approach flyover. When all beams are in place, the contractor will lay steel reinforcement and cast the deck slab. After that the deck slab will be waterproofed and the pavement will be made of two layers, the bottom layer is guss asphalt and the top layer is crushed stone and mastic asphalt concrete. Then the lighting system and barriers will be mounted.

The bridge over the Kama is 1.3 km long and is the major bridge structure at Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny Bypass. The bridge crossing comprises a 510m-long approach flyover and a 792m-long main bridge. The flyover is assembled from RC beams, 33 m long each. The bridge deck consists of 64 steel segments.

Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny Bypass Project includes construction of a 4-lane 1B category highway, 10 bridges, 5 interchanges, 11 overpasses and 5 grade-separated intersections. All interchanges will have lighting for the sake of road safety and the opposing traffic will be separated with two-sided steel barriers. The total length of the bypass is 81 km. Construction is carried out by three stages and is to be completed by the end of 2024.
