M-12 Vostok opens to traffic
At the video conference on 21 December, President Putin launched traffic at the M-12 section between Moscow and Kazan.
Shkiperskaya interchange at the Western High Speed Diameter partly opens to traffic
On 20 December, the new interchange between WHSD and Shkipersky Protok Street partly opened to traffic.
The second launching stage of the Kama Bridge started
Construction of the bridge over the Kama River, which is part of Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny Bypass in Tatarstan, is ongoing. The bridge deck is now to be launched to 132 m. The launching is being performed in severe weather conditions – the air temperature has dropped to 30oC below zero. Despite the challenging weather, the contractor is progressing on schedule.
The contractor is placing asphalt on 6 bridges of Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny Bypass
Construction of the bridges started in spring 2022. To date, the contractors have erected piers and bridge decks, and installed expansion joints, waterproofing and the base course of granite stone asphalt mixture.

Installation of beams started at the approach flyover to the Kama Bridge at Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny Bypass
Construction of the bridge over the Kama River is ongoing and four spans are planned to be installed this year. The entire bridge will be completed next year.
New stretches of the Far Eastern Railway open to traffic
Three new stretches have been open to traffic within the Baikal – Amur railway modernisation project, stage 2: a track duplication stretch between Ulak and Verkhnezeisk and two passing loops between stations Dugda and Nora, and between stations Drogoshevsk and Skalisty.
Tolyatti Bypass: road construction is 90% completed
Tolyatti Bypass with a bridge over the Volga is being built in Saratov Region. The highway, including approaches to the bridge, is 90% complete.
New interchange opened to traffic in Nizhniy Novgorod
On June 3, a new traffic interchange at Tsiolkovsky Street was officially opened to traffic. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, the President’s representative in Volga Federal District Igor Komarov and the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin.
Central Bridge over the Ob River in Novosibirsk: the deck launching completed
The launching of the Central Bridge deck has been completed. The launching operation that included 15 stages took a year. 715 m of steel structures with a total weight of over 9000 tons were assembled.
